Kay was honored by the Northampton County Coordinating
Council of Education Associations at their 2005 annual banquet at the
Candlelight Inn in Bethlehem. Program Chairwoman Barbara Fowler,
Farmersville Elementary School art teacher, presented her with the
County Friend of Education Award for support of excellent
communication between schools and community. At the banquet, Kay
gave a speech and read My Teacher for President while the
illustrations were displayed. In accepting the award, she said to
the audience, "I feel I should be giving you this honor. Education
has always been central to my life. But today, you are the ones
offering the welcoming smile, the encouraging word, the gift of
reading. You are the ones making a difference." |
| The Alumni Association of Arcadia University presented Kay with
the Golden Disc Award for Distinguished Achievement in Her Chosen
Profession. On receiving the award at the Alumni Luncheon on June 2,
