Book signings at conferences, festivals, and conventions are frequent occurrences, particularly when a new title comes out. They are an important way for an author to meet her readers, introduce the new book, and get feedback about previous titles. Here, Kay is signing at the ALA conference. |

| I loved signing books at the Lincoln Memorial Bookstore. It's a teeny tiny place... but right outside that magnificent monument. Takes my breath away every time. |

I returned again to the Museum to sign copies of Abe Lincoln: The Boy Who Loved Books, as well as Colonial Voices: Hear Them Speak. |

| I was surprised to have two students come by at different times who exclaimed, "You came to my school!' And I had! One student was from Illinois, the other from Chambersburg, PA. | |

It was a very moving experience to be in that sacred spot sharing details about Lincoln's life. Afterwards, one four-year old announced to me solemnly, "My daddy knew Abraham Lincoln!" |

Afterward, I signed books in the theater lobby. Here's a young reader who loves books and the Red Sox. Earl says the former will bring him more consistent pleasure in life than the latter. |
